my approach

I work from a trauma-informed approach; I believe the symptoms you are experiencing are creative solutions you developed to help you survive. Although these thoughts, feelings, and behaviours once helped you cope they are no longer serving you.

I am client-centred. Each session belongs to you, the client, and the issue you bring is the issue we will focus on. With my compassion and non-judgemental support I will help you explore deeper into your life and mind.

In therapy you can expect to identify and challenge schemas. Schemas are belief systems that you developed early in life. They are cyclical; they are themes and self-defeating patterns that continue throughout your life if left unexamined. Distorted thinking and charged emotions will be challenged in order to identify unmet needs.

I teach Ego States which serves as a framework for understanding and navigating your mind today. From this perspective you can gain back control over your life and allow you to make different decisions and break old habits.

Chair

The most impactful factor for therapeutic success is the therapeutic alliance; the relationship between you and I. This is a special connection that is unlike any other in your life. As I am a neutral observer, you can get an unbiased look into your life. My work begins by earning your trust.

My philosophy

Each person is unique and capable of change. The answers and insights that will heal you are within yourself and my role is to help guide and support you to find those answers.
